How do I register to take a test?
Paper-Based (PBT) Tests
You can register online for all PBT tests. Registration by mail is available only for test takers who do not have access to an electronic form of payment (credit/debit card or e-check). Registration by phone is available only during the emergency registration period.
Computer-Administered (CAT) Tests
Registration for CAT tests can only be done online and by phone.
More information about registration methods is available in the Registration Bulletin for each program.
How do I get a copy of the Registration Bulletin?
If I am registering by mail, can I use one registration form for two different test dates?
Although you may register for up to two tests on a single date, you must use a separate registration form for each test date. Remember that registration by mail is available only for test takers who do not have access to an electronic form of payment (credit/debit card or e-check).
What do I do if I need to change my test, test center, test date or test session?
Requests to change your test, test date, test center or test session can be done online or by phone. Change requests for PBT tests can also be done by completing and submitting a Change Request form. Change Request forms are available in the Download Library for the test you are taking. Fees, payment policies and completion and submission instructions are on the form.
You cannot change from a PBT test to a CAT test or vice versa. To make such a change, you must cancel the test for which you are registered and then register for the new test.
A test date can only be changed to a date within the current testing year. If you are affiliated with an Educator Preparation Program, you must be preapproved for the new test you are planning to take.
